What is Narrowband IoT?
Narrowband IoT is an evolution of existing cellular networks. Unused frequency bands and a new technology enabled small data packets to be sent over a long distance. Allowing sensors and machines to connect directly to the mobile network without a gateway.
It’s easy to understand that energy efficiency is key for the business case to work. Having to change the battery used to be a primary reason some IoT cases would never work financially. With NB-IoT, this is a thing of the past. Narrowband transmits extremely efficient and can operate sensors on a single battery for years.

Not all countries around the world support NB-IoT networks yet. Olivia is working closely with operators to add new networks. Most NB-IoT cellular modules support 2G or 3G fallback and make global deployments available today.

What is included in the pricing?
Our narrowband pricing is all-inclusive. This means physical SIM card, data volume, service period, platform, APIs and service is included. Only shipping depending on the destination is calculated at check-out.
Does the SIM card fit my device?
Yes, it’s a multi-sized, 3-in-1 SIM card. All sizes are available on this card: normal SIM (2FF), micro SIM (3FF) and a nano SIM (4FF). Simply, pick the right size and place it in the device.. MFF2 Chip SIMs are available for larger projects as well.
Is the service period always for 5 years?
Yes, most NB-IoT applications are long-term deployments and this aligns with providing the best pricing available.
What happens after the 5 year period or when all data is consumed?
The NB-IoT subscription can be renewed for an additional period and data allowance. If there is any specific business case that requires a shorter period, it can be discussed as well.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
No, there is no minimum order quantity. However if you order more SIM cards a discount is rewarded automatically.
